Most “dog lover” bracelets look as though they were designed by someone who has only ever seen a dog as a phone wallpaper.

Cheap cords, plastic paw prints and shiny little trinkets that survive about two coffees and one accidental scrape against a jacket. But people who live with a Stafford usually are not looking for cute gift-shop decoration beside the till.

The black hardware will naturally develop a lightly worn patina over time. It doesn’t affect functionality in any way — although on canine troublemakers and four-legged wrestlers, it tends to happen a bit quicker than on laid-back Sunday walkers from the park.
